The Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal HB Abubakar, today, 25 November, 2023 presided over a crucial Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT) Council Meeting to deliberate on important issues relevant to the efficient running of the Institute. Air Marshal HB Abubakar attended the Council Meeting for the first time since he assumed office as the CAS.
It would be recalled that Air Marshal HB Abubakar on assumption of office came up with a Command Philosophy which is “to transform the NAF into an agile and resilient force that effectively meets the airpower demands of national security in all operational environments”. The CAS has gone on to transform different segments of the NAF in line with the progressive philosophy. It is expected that decisions taken during the meeting would impact positively on the entire AFIT community.
Meanwhile, both degree and diploma students of the Institute are expected to resume for the new session on 4 December 2023. It is anticipated that the necessary policies to kick start the new session would be decided during the Council Meeting as students look forward to a robust interface with the School’s research partners, lecturers and administrators of their respective programmes.
