AFIT TOPS MILITARY COMPETITORS AT EXPO2024

The Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT) has once again proved its intellectual dominance at the Science, Innovative and Technology Exhibition (EXPO2024) where it came first in the Tri-Service category and third overall at the event which took place at Eagle Square, Abuja. The outstanding performance of AFIT confirmed the renewed Research and Development efforts at the Institute to reposition Nigeria functionally in the field of technological innovation.

AFIT Team displayed exceptional skills, creativity and passion for excellence. It was therefore not surprising that it dominated other Tri-Service competitors at the event. According to Professor OM Alimi who was the leader of the Team and Director of AFIT Centre for Innovation and Research, the success was due largely to the support and prompt release of funds for research by the Commandant, Air Vice Marshal SL Rabe.

Professor Alimi stated that the Commandant was physically present at the event to motivate the Team. He asserted that the singular act was a morale booster and enabler to members of the Team. He congratulated the entire AFIT community for the progress made in the field of technological research and remarked that with more commitment, AFIT would make Nigeria proud over time.
