A team from the Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT) Kaduna participated in the on-going Cranfield University Aerospace Vehicle Design presentation to industries. The presentation which is currently taking place at the University on 4 and 5 May 2023 is aimed at critical design review of their MSc programmes and collaborations with military and civil organizations.

AFIT being a premium university in Aerospace Engineering in Nigeria and Africa was invited alongside other aerospace stakeholders for the presentation. AFIT is also a premier collaborator with Cranfield University on the African continent.
The review is necessary because the Aerospace/Aviation industry is under significant pressure to reduce its impact on the environment. In a bid to decarbonise the world’s economic sector, various research efforts are on-going in institutions around the world. Of particular interest is alternative propulsion systems, in which Cranfield University is actively involved.

The 2022/23 AVD Group Design Project is tailored towards providing solutions for a greener environment. The review is of a Liquid Hydrogen fuelled mid to long range civil airliner named the A-22 Aether. The project was developed from a conceptual aircraft design carried out by Prof Howard Smith and Dr Yicheng Sun.
The A-22 Aether is comparable to the ALTA concept by AVM PO Jemitola and Gp Capt GE Abbe.
AVM AK Ademuwagun and Gp Capt GE Abbe represented AFIT at the presentation.

All newly admitted DE students are to print their admission letter from JAMB CAPS and report to AFIT for registration from 18 to 22 Nov 24. Registration for newly admitted students closes 22 Nov 24.
