The Commandant, Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT), Kaduna, Air Vice Marshal Adeniran Kolade Ademuwagun on 12 December, 2025, declared that under his administration, AFITwould remain committed to fostering a conducive learning environment designed to optimize the capacity development of Nigerian Air Force (NAF) personnel in addition to its pioneering role in aerospace for other categories of university students. The importance of putting emphasis on the learning environment, according to him, was to underscore the crucial role of the University in building a technologically proficient and operationally ready Air Force, equipped to meet contemporary defence challenges. 

The Commandant, who was represented at the graduation ceremony of the Institute’s Intermediate and Advance Sundry Military Courses by the Deputy Commandant, Air Vice Marshal OC Ubadike, emphasized the unwavering focus of the Institute in human capacity development despite its evolving nature over the years especially in the areas of innovation, discipline, and mission-driven excellence. He highlighted how AFIT’s strategic initiatives ranging from state-of-the-art training facilities and cutting-edge curricula to collaborative research programmes were tailored to empower NAF officers and airmen with the skills needed to serve the technical and logistics training needs of the Nigerian Air Force.

The Commandant took a moment to specially commend the Institute’s dedicated instructors for their exemplary discipline, relentless dedication, and tireless efforts in advancing AFIT’s core mission “to produce knowledgeable and innovative personnel worthy in character and learning, through effective teaching and research for the technological advancement of the Nigerian Air Force in particular and the country in general”.He added that “Their passion and professionalism form the bedrock of our success,” and urged all staff to sustain the momentum as the Institute continues to evolve as a center of excellence within Nigeria’s defence education ecosystem.

AVM Ubadike, while congratulating the 352 graduands on attaining a significant milestone in their careers, charged the personnel to be good ambassadors of AFIT by demonstrating competence, dedication, and common sense. According to him, the graduating students have now been provided with the necessary basic and advanced training required to become active participants in their various specialties.
