The Commandant, Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT), Air Vice Marshal Adeniran Ademuwagun today, 13 November 2025, assured the Chief of Defence Simulation Centre (CDSCEN), Major General AA Aboaba, that the Institute will collaborate with the Simulation Centre to actualize indigenous software development for the benefit of the Armed Forces and the nation at large.

Represented by the Deputy Commandant, Air Vice Marshal OC Ubadike, the AFIT Commandant emphasized on the need for a broader collaboration between the University and the Centre as AFIT was at the forefront of the development of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV) in Nigeria.
He assured the CDSCEN that the Institute’s technical team was ready for discussion with the Defence simulation Centre on possible areas of interest, adding that he was passionate about technological advancement that would promote indigenous production of critical software.
Earlier, Maj Gen Aboaba, who was recently appointed as the CDSCEN, stated that his team was on a strategic tour of the Institute to acquaint himself of the activities of the foremost tripartite military university. According to him, future warfare was going to be technologically driven and it was imperative for collaboration to facilitate the indigenous production of simulation software and training in simulation systems in line with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s renewed hope agenda.
