The Air Force Cadets of 76 Regular Course of the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) Kaduna, have embarked on a strategic tour of the Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT) to understudy the nexus between their ongoing training at the Academy and their future prospects in the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) engineering field. AFIT remains the gateway to engineering in the NAF and the foremost university in the study of aerospace engineering in Nigeria.
The AFIT Commandant, Air Vice Marshal Adeniran Kolade Ademuwagun, who was represented by the Director, Centre for Technical and Vocational Training, Group Captain OG Alabi, encouraged the cadets to embrace the knowledge gained during the study tour and remain committed to upholding the values and traditions of the NAF. The study tour reinforced the cadets’ understanding of concepts taught through classroom instructions and demonstrations at the NDA and exposed them to the operational and technical operations of the Nigerian Air Force.

Earlier, the representative of the Commandant, Nigerian Defence Academy, Squadron Leader JT Longe, disclosed that the study tour was to expose the students to the practical demonstration of instructions as well as to help the cadets to bridge the gap between academic knowledge and real-world military operations. He seized the opportunity to thank the AFIT Commandant, for providing the enabling environment as well as the experienced instructors who imparted needed knowledge to the students during the tour.
In his vote of thanks, Cadet WO Nweke, expressed gratitude to the AFIT Commandant for the warm reception accorded to them and assured that the knowledge gained on aerodynamics would be reflected in their careers. He added that the presentation on the technical roles and responsibilities of AFIT to the Nigerian Air Force as well as the visual display of aircraft operational systems would guide them as they prepare for a fruitful career in the NAF.
