INNOVATION IN MOTION FACULTY COMPETITION – FACULTY OF SOCIAL AND MANAGEMENT SCIENCES

The vision of the Commandant, Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT), AVM SL Rabe, is to transform the Institute into a global centre of multidisciplinary academic and research excellence. In line with this vision, the Dean, Faculty of Social and Management Sciences, Air Cdre EA Ejodame, has initiated programmes to develop students’ soft skills, building essential qualities such as communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and emotional intelligence, which are valued by employers across various industries.

And so, the Deans’ inspirational video competition tagged “Innovation in Motion” tasked students to upload 2-minute videos expressing their professional aspirations as developed through their journey in AFIT.

The videos submitted by the students showcased high level of creativity and passion indicative of AFIT’s academic and research excellence. Mr Yahaya Abubakar emerged the Gold Award winner, Miss Susana Echichi won the Silver Award, while the Bronze Award was won by Miss Oritsejubemi Christiana all from the International Relations Department. Miss Peace Okeke also from International Relations and Mr Godwin Charles from Accounting Department also received awards for their outstanding video submissions. There were 6 other students in the finals, each awardee and finalists were recognized for their outstanding performance, receiving well-deserved cash prizes and certificates of achievement. The recognition not only celebrated their hard work and dedication but also served as an inspiration to their peers, motivating them to pursue excellence in future endeavours.
