AFIT RELEASES 2023/2024 ACADEMIC CALENDAR

In continuation of his determination to return the Air Force Institute of Technology’s (AFIT) academic calendar to the September-August circle, the Commandant, AVM SL Rabe, has approved the Institute’s 2023/2024 Academic Calendar. The schedule of activities for the new session which was released by the Deputy Director of Academic Programmes, Dr Asma’uBaffa, shows that newly admitted postgraduate students are to resume school and carry out their registration from 13 to 30th November, 2023.

Academic activities for the new session for newly admitted undergraduate and returning students would begin on 27 November, 2023 and end on the 9th of December 2023 for new students.  According to Dr Asma’u, general orientation for new students by the School would take place on 18 December 2023 while the Faculty and Departmental orientation would take place from 10 to 11th January, 2024. Lectures would commence on 4th December 2023 for both new and old students and would end on 2 March 2024.

She stated that matriculation of new students would take place on 13 January, 2024 while convocation for graduating students would take place on 6 April, 2023. The Students Industrial Work Experience Scheme (SIWES) would resume on 8 January, 2023 and the SIWES students are expected to arrive the Institute on the same day.  

The first semester is expected to end on 13 April, 2024 while the second semester is expected to commence on 22 April 2024 and end on 4 August 2024. Further details of the 2023/2024 academic calendar of the Institute are available at the School’s website.
