The Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT), Kaduna, has today, 31 October 2025 matriculated new \u00a0students\u00a0of the\u00a0National\u00a0Board for Technical Education (NBTE)\u00a0and National Universities Commission (NUC) into the Institute for\u00a0the 2025\/2026 academic session\u00a0at its 8th<\/sup>matriculation ceremony. The event which marked the end of admission for the session, qualifies the matriculating students as bonafide members of the AFIT community following the recitation of the Institute\u2019s Oath of Allegiance.\u00a0

The Guest of Honour and Director General of the Air Force Research and Development Institute (AFRDI), Air Vice Marshal AG Kehinde,congratulated the new students on this significant milestone. He said AFIT was established to serve as the intellectual and technological engine room for the Nigerian Air Force and it has evolved over time to become the centre of excellence in aerospace engineering, avionics, aircraft maintenance, cyber technology and allied disciplines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

AVM Kehinde added that the Institute\u2019s curriculum was structured to blend academic theory with practical training which ensures that students were not just knowledgeable, but capable of solving real-world problems. He urged the new students to approach their studies with seriousness and enthusiasm as the future of aviation and defence technology has been placed on their shoulders. He commended the Commandant and his entire management team for their commitment to academic excellence and innovation, adding that, \u201cUnder your stewardship, AFIT has continued to grow in reputation, infrastructure and research output\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Earlier in his remarks, the AFIT Commandant,\u00a0Air Vice Marshal Sani Labaran Rabe,\u00a0who was represented by the Deputy Commandant, Air Vice Marshal Albert Bot, urged\u00a0the new students to be law abiding, respectful and obedient to\u00a0constituted authority including\u00a0all rules and regulations of the\u00a0Institute. He urged them to\u00a0be good ambassadors of the Institute and to\u00a0refrain from any act of violence, cultism, examination malpractice, indecent dressing and other actions that\u00a0couldbring the\u00a0Institute into disrepute.\u00a0

The Provost of the Institute, Professor Auwal Kasim, in his address disclosed that the admission process was fair and based on merit, adding that all the admitted students were above average students as the Institute\u2019s cut-off mark was above the average score used by most institutions of higher learning in Nigeria for admission. He however noted that only the matriculating students gained admission out of the thousands who sought to enter into the Institute. He therefore advised them to make the best use of the opportunity given to them to study<\/a> as AFIT remains the most sought after institution of higher learning within the north-west zone of the country. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
