In continuation of his determination to return the Air Force Institute of Technology\u2019s (AFIT) academic calendar to the September-August circle, the Commandant, AVM SL <\/span><\/span>Rabe<\/span><\/span>, has approved the Institute\u2019s 2023\/2024 Academic Calendar. The schedule of activities for the new session whi<\/span><\/span>ch was released by the <\/span><\/span>Deputy Director of Academic <\/span><\/span>Programmes<\/span><\/span>, <\/span><\/span>Dr<\/span><\/span> Asma\u2019u<\/span><\/span>Baffa<\/span><\/span>, shows that <\/span><\/span>newly admitted postgraduate students are to resume <\/span><\/span>school and carry out their registration from 13 to 30<\/span><\/span>th<\/span><\/span> November, 2023.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n \n Ac<\/span><\/span>ademic activities for the new session <\/span><\/span>for <\/span><\/span>new<\/span><\/span>ly admitted<\/span><\/span> undergraduate <\/span><\/span>and returning students <\/span><\/span>would begin on <\/span><\/span>27 November, 2023 <\/span><\/span>and end on the 9th of December 2023 for new students. \u00a0According to <\/span><\/span>Dr<\/span><\/span> Asma\u2019u<\/span><\/span>, general orientation for new students by the School would take place on 18 December 2023 while the Faculty and Departmental orientation would take place <\/span><\/span>from 10 to 11th<\/span><\/span> January, 2024. <\/span><\/span>Lectures would commence on 4th December 2023 for both new and old students and would end on 2 March 2024.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n \n She stated that matriculation of new students would take place on 13 January, 2024 while convocation for graduating students would take place on 6 April, 2023. The Students Industri<\/span><\/span>al Work Experience Scheme (SIWES<\/span><\/span>)<\/span><\/span> would resume on 8 January, 2023 and the SIWES students are expected to arrive the Institute on the same day. \u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n \n The <\/span><\/span>first semester is expected to end on 13 April, 2024 while the <\/span><\/span>second semester is expected to commence on <\/span><\/span>22 April 2024 and end on 4 August 2024.
