The Chairman of ISPON Kaduna chapter, Mr. Oyibo Felix in his speech said as a safety professional umbrella of the nation, and AFIT being a giant in aviation safety training in Nigeria, it is a fact of profound significance that the roles both institutes play in the national development and the protection of human lives cannot be over emphasize, hence the need for synergy between AFIT and ISPON.

Responding, the Commandant of AFIT, Air Vice Marshal Isyaka Bukar welcomed the initiative, saying that there is no course offered in AFIT that safety measures are not always put in to consideration. He however assured the members that AFIT is ready to collaborate with ISPON in promoting health and safety in the country and other areas as deemed important in due course.
The Institute of Safety Professionals of Nigeria was founded in 1980 as a membership, non – Profit organization for all individuals involved in occupational health and safety practices, to maintain standards, providing impartial authoritative guidance on safety practice, and organizing training.  The Institute was formerly known and addressed as Nigerian Institute of Safety Professionals (NIPS), but changed name and status in 2014.
